We're a mid-size construction company (40 employees, 15 active projects) looking to move from spreadsheets to monday.com. Need to track: project timelines, subcontractor schedules, permit deadlines, budget vs actual, and client approvals. Has anyone built a construction-specific setup? What templates or columns are essential?

We built a construction-specific system: Board 1 - Project Master (client, address, budget, timeline), Board 2 - Phase Tracker (Foundation, Framing, Electrical, etc. as groups), Board 3 - Subcontractor Database (contacts, insurance, specialties). Key columns: Status (Use 'Project Phase' status column), Budget (Formula: Estimated - Actual), Permit Due Date (Date column with automation alerts 30/7/1 days before). Use the 'Timeline' column for phase scheduling - it's crucial for construction.

Construction requires RFI tracking - we added a separate board for RFIs with linked items to projects. Also: photo documentation is key. Use the 'File' column type extensively. The mobile app is essential for field use - our supers update from site.
